Ingredients

  1. 1 cupDawat brown Basmati rice
  2. 1/2 cuppeas (Matar)
  3. 1/2 cupchopped carrots
  4. 1/2chopped cabbage
  5. 1onion sliced
  6. 1/4 cupchopped capsicum
  7. 1/4 cupbeetroot shredded
  8. 4-5 cloves(laung)
  9. 1tez patta (Bay Leaf)
  10. 1big cardamom
  11. 2 tbspCoriander leaves chopped
  12. 2 tbspOil
  13. to tasteSalt

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak brown rice for 1/2 an hour.
    Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add Tej Patta, cardamom, laung, saute for a while. Add sliced onions. Saute it. Add peas, carrots, cabbage & capsicum. Saute all for 1 minute.

    Add soaked rice. Saute again. Add salt & 2 cup water. Stir it. Cover the lid.
    Cook it on medium flame until 3 whistles. Switch off gas. Let it cool.

    Transfer into serving dish. Garnish with shredded beetroot & coriander Leaves.
    Serve hot with cucumber raita or plain curd
