Cooking Instructions
- 1
Saute onion and garlic in olive oil.
- 2
Add the turkey meat. Cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes, chopping down and stirring with the side of a heavy kitchen spoon to break up any lumps.
- 3
Add the bell pepper, bay leaves, chili powder and cumin. Stir to blend well. Cook for 5 minutes.
- 4
Add the tomatoes, chicken broth, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes.
Add the drained beans. - 5
Note: added sugar, butter, cinnamon, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, smoked paprika, hot sauce, great northern beans to my liking

This is another great recipe from Cook’s Illustrated. Be sure to use 93 percent lean ground turkey, not 99 percent fat-free ground turkey breast, in this recipe. Corn tortillas add flavor and help thicken the chili. Ricardo -

I am not a huge chili fan, but I LOVE this chili. It is more like a soup and not too chunky...and it has a kick to it! Kristy -
