Madeira Cake
I tried a new cake recipe from Germany.
Steps

Preheat oven to 180 C.

Brush baking tin with butter and line base and sides with baking paper.

Using electric beaters, beat butter and sugar in a mixing bowl till light and creamy. Add eggs gradually, beating thoroughly after each addition. Add rind beat until combined.

Fold in ground almonds. Sift the flour and fold it into the mixture till combined and smooth.

Spoon into prepared baking tin and smooth surface.

Bake for 55 minutes.

Leave cake in tin for 10 minutes before turning out onto wire rack.

Dust top with icing sugar before serving.
