Nankhatai are shortbread biscuits popular in India and Pakistan. The word Nankhatai is derived from Persian word Naan meaning bread and "Khatai" from an Afghan word meaning Biscuit.

Steps

Place all the dry ingredients in a bowl besides the pistachios. Mix well
- 2
Add the ghee gradually to knead a stiff dough. Don’t over knead
- 3
Make small balls (cookie shaped) or any desired shapes and place a few pistachio slices in the center and press gently
- 4
Line the Nankhatais on a bread tray or baking sheet ready to bake at 180 degrees celcius for 12-15 minutes
- 5
Store in airtight box
