Ingredients

  1. 1/2 bunchchopped palanga/spinach
  2. 1 1/2 cupsplit arhar dal,
  3. 1 cupcubed pumpkin,
  4. 1/2 cupcubed potatoes,
  5. 4simphali/ simba
  6. 1brinjal cube cut
  7. 1tomato chopped,
  8. 3-4dry red chillis,
  9. 1/2 tspgrated ginger,
  10. 1 pinchAsafoetida/hing,
  11. 1 tspoil,
  12. 1 tspghee,
  13. 1/3 tspjeera-lanka gunda (roasted cumin chilli powder),
  14. 1/3 tspturmeric
  15. to tasteSalt
  16. 1/2 tsppanchphutorn

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and soak the arhar dal for 1 hours.

  2. 2

    Take the dal, pumpkin cubes, potato cubes and all veggies along with salt and turmeric in a pressure cooker. Cook for 1 whistle on high flame.

  3. 3

    Open the lid..Then add palak /spinach to the and again cook it for 1 more whistle.

  4. 4

    Now switch off the flame. Let it cool completely.

  5. 5

    Heat ghee in the wok. Add broken red chilli and panchphutorn seeds. Hing, grated ginger, onion. Pour the spluttering mix over the contents of the pressure cooker.

  6. 6

    Put the mixture back on medium flame. Add the jeera-lanka gunda. Simmer for 2 mins.

  7. 7

    Serve hot with Rice /rotis/puri/paratha.
