Ingredients

20-25 mins
4-5 servings
  • 1 ltr milk
  • 1/2 cuprice preferably small grains(soaked for 1 hour)
  • 1 cupjaggery or gur(acc.to Sweetness)
  • 1 cupgrated coconut
  • 3-4elaihe (powdered)
  • As neededNuts for decoration

Steps

20-25 mins
  1. 1

    Boil milk in a pan.

  2. 2

    Add rice and cook stirring continuously else it will stick in the pan.

  3. 3

    Once the rice is 3/4 cooked add grated coconut and stir continuously on medium flame.

  4. 4

    In another pan add 1/2 cup water and jaggery and allow it to melt.

  5. 5

    Now when the kheer is almost done,add jaggery syrup to it using a strainer to avoid impurities.And remember to stir while adding jaggery syrup else the kheer might cuddle.

  6. 6

    Now add elaichi powder

  7. 7

    And finally switch off the flame.Let it sit for 5-10 mins.Then serve with nuts.
