These are a family favorite. I never make a single batch! They freeze well by layering with wax paper between layers. Make plenty as they go fast.

Ingredients

  1. Wet Ingredients
  2. 4Creamed Bananas
  3. 1 1/2 cupShortening
  4. 1 1/2 cupBrown Sugar
  5. 2Eggs
  6. 1 tspVanilla
  7. 1 tspBanana Flavoring
  8. Dry Ingredients
  9. 4 cupFlour
  10. 1/2 tspSalt
  11. 2 tspBaking Soda
  12. Frosting
  13. 1/2 cupButter or Margerine
  14. 1 tspVanilla
  15. 8 cupPowdered Sugar
  16. 1/4 cupBrown Sugar
  17. 1/2 cupCream or Evaporated Milk
  18. Optional
  19. 1Chopped walnuts as desired

Cooking Instructions

    Mix wet ingredients together until well mixed

    Mix dry ingredients together

  3. 3

    Gradually add dry ingredients and mix with wet ingredients to create dough. If necessary add extra flour depending on size of bananas. Optional: Chopped walnuts can be added if desired

    Preheat oven to 350°F.

    Drop by Tablespoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes or until tops of cookies are slightly brown.

    For icing: When cookies are cool, combine brown sugar, evaporated milk (or cream), and butter in sauce pan and bring to boil.

    Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar until spreading consistency.

  8. 8

    Add vanilla and quickly ice cookies as icing will harden as it cools.
