Mix yeast and flour.

Heat margarine until it melts.

In a large bowl combine all the ingredients (for the dough). Then cover the bowl and let the dough raise in a warm place until it reaches double size.

On a large floured surface separate the dough into 8 pieces, which you separate again into three pieces each.

Roll each piece and plait every three rolls like pigtails.

Let the mini-striezels rest on a baking tray another time for about 30 minutes.

Then spread them with the egg yolk and sprinkle with sugar. (The egg yolk will make it deliciously golden when baked)

Bake in pre-heated oven (180°C) for 15 minutes.
