Ingredients

  1. 3/4 cupbutter
  2. 1 cuplight brown sugar, packed
  3. 1egg
  4. 1/3 cupmolasses
  5. 2 1/4 cupall purpose flour
  6. 2 tspbaking soda
  7. 1 tspcinnamon
  8. 1 tspginger
  9. 1 tspground cloves
  10. 1granulated white sugar on a saucer for rolling cookies in

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat oven 375°F

  2. 2

    in small bowl stir together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves together

  3. 3

    in a medium bowl, cream butter, brown sugar and egg until light and fluffy

  4. 4

    add flour mixture to butter mixture, mix well

  5. 5

    roll dough into small balls, roll in granulated sugar

  6. 6

    lightly flatten on an ungreased cookie sheet

  7. 7

    bake 9 minutes, cookies will be very soft to the touch...let cool on cookie sheet 10 minutes before moving to a plate

  8. 8

    do not over bake or cookies will be hard
