Make the sugar syrup by heating the water and adding sugar to it when it comes to boil.

To that add saffron and lemon juice.

Turn off once everything is incorporated.

Set aside.

Mix all the "Jamun" ingredients and knead to make a soft but crumbly dough.

Let the dough rest for 10-15 minutes.

Now knead the dough again and make equal size Jamuns (Balls).

If you notice cracks in your jamuns, then again knead the dough using little more milk. Make sure not to add milk in one go. Add little by little.

Heat oil in a hollow pan and fry the jamuns in slow flame till they turn golden brown.

Once fried, place them on oil blotting paper.

Add the Jamuns into the sugar syrup.

Seving suggestion: Garnish with slivered almonds. Best to be served with vanilla ice cream.
