I'm a type 1 diabetic and attended camp banting, a camp for diabetic kids for years. these bars were a real good treat because theyre good and healthy!! we looked forward to them all year and finally the provided the recipe! good for kids, those trying to be healthier & parties.

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 cupall purpose flour
  2. 2 tspbaking powder
  3. 3 cuprolled oats
  4. 1 cupmelted butter or margarine
  5. 2 cuplightly packed brown sugar
  6. 2eggs
  7. 1 tspvanilla extract
  8. Optional
  9. 1/2 tspsalt
  10. 1/2 cupraisins, chocolate chips or nuts

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350°. Grease one regular sized cookie sheet (10"15",1/2' deep)

    In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt (if used), and rolled oats. Stir to blend

  3. 3

    In a second large bowl (bigger then first) mix the melted butter/margarine, brown sugar, beaten eggs and vanilla.

    Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Mix well.

  5. 5

    Spread batter onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

    When ready flip the cookie sheet onto a cutting board and cut into 24 equal pieces.

Im a young lady with big dreams! Thanks for following. I have type one diabetes and plan on using that to my advantage to become a chef. Most of my recipes are good for diabetics. I plan on opening my own restaurant one day soonOttawa, Canada :)
