Ingredients

  1. 3/4 lbPenne Pasta
  2. 1 lbShrimp
  3. 3 tbspButter
  4. 3 tbspOlive Oil
  5. 1small onion
  6. 2 clovegarlic
  7. 1/2 cupwhite wine
  8. 8 oztomato sauce
  9. 1 cupheavy cream
  10. 1 tablespoonfresh parsley
  11. 1 tablespoonfresh basil
  12. 1 teaspoonsalt
  13. 1 teaspoonpepper

  1. 1

    cook the penne pasta until tender-firm

  2. 2

    Peel, devein and rinse (under cool water) 1 pound of shrimp

  3. 3

    Heat 1 tbsp butter and olive oil in a skillet

  4. 4

    Add the shrimp and cook for a couple of minutes until just opaque. Do not over cook them

  5. 5

    Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes

  6. 6

    finely dice 1 small onion. mince 2 cloves of garlic

  7. 7

    Chop the shrimp into bite sized pieces

  8. 8

    In a large skillet heat 2 tbsp of butter and 2 tbsp of olive oil

  9. 9

    Add the garlic and onion, and saute

  10. 10

    After the garlic and onion have cooked a bit add your white wine. let the wine evaporate for a few minutes

  11. 11

    Add 8 ounce can of tomato sauce. stir well until combined

  12. 12

    Add 1 cup of heavy cream

  13. 13

    Turn heat down and let simmer

  14. 14

    Chop a tbsp of parsley and a tbsp of basil

  15. 15

    Add chopped shrimp back into the tomato cream sauce. stir well and add salt and pepper to taste

    Add herbs and stir until combined

    Add cooked penne pasta and stir well
