Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cuponions
  2. 2 tbspfat-free chicken broth, low sodium
  3. 2 tbspgarlic, minced
  4. 1 1/2 lbground turkey breast
  5. 1/2 cupsourdough bread crumbs
  6. 1/2 cuplow-sodium, low-fat marinara sauce
  7. 2 tbsplow-sodium, low-fat marinara sauce
  8. 2 tbspfresh basil, chopped
  9. 2 tbspItalian parsley, chopped

    Preheat oven to 350°F

  2. 2

    Sauté the onions in the chicken broth until lightly browned.

  3. 3

    Add the garlic and cook 5 minutes more. Remove from heat and cool slightly.

  4. 4

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the onion mixture with the ground turkey, breadd crumbs, 1/2 cup marinara sauce, basil and parsley

  5. 5

    Form mixture into a loaf. Shape and place in an ungreased loaf pan.

  6. 6

    Brush with the remaining 2 tablespoons marinara sauce and bake until cooked through, 30 to 45 minutes.

  7. 7

    Drain off fat and let cool 20 minutes before cutting into 8 slices.
