Baby Cereal - Rice (Just Add Water!)

Honestly, I was apalled to see that for the cost of 227g of baby cereal, and a little time, I could make nearly 900g myself, with the same "just add water" convenience! Bonus: no unpronounceable ingredients!

Honestly, I was apalled to see that for the cost of 227g of baby cereal, and a little time, I could make nearly 900g myself, with the same "just add water" convenience! Bonus: no unpronounceable ingredients!
Steps
- 1
Add rice to coffee grinder, and reduce to a fine powder.
- 2
Bring water to a boil. Add rice powder (1/4 cup powder for 1 cup water), cook on low heat, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
- 3
Let cool. Can be served as is, or kept in the refrigerator 72 hours. If such is the case, add breastmilk or formula to acheive desired consistency.
- 4
Spread cooked cereal in a thin layer on a "fruit roll up" tray, and place in dehydrator. Set dehydrator to 115°F, and leave for twelve hours, or until the rice looks like "chips", and break when touched.
- 5
Place "chips" to coffee grinder, and reduce to a fine power. Store in an airtight container at room temperature, away from moisture.
- 6
To serve, add warm breastmilk, water, or formula, until desired consistency is obtained.
