Ingredients

15 servings
  1. 20 ozJohnsonville mild Italian sausage links (casings removed)
  2. 1/2 cupButter
  3. 1 mediumOnion, chopped
  4. 2 cupChopped celery
  5. 1 cupChopped green pepper
  6. 3Garlic cloves, minced
  7. 12 cupUnseasoned cubed bread stuffing
  8. 1 tspRubbed sage
  9. 1 tbspMinced fresh basil or 1 teaspoon dried basil
  10. 1/2 cupShredded Parmesan cheese
  11. 1 canSliced black olives, drained
  12. 2Eggs, lightly beaten
  13. 4 cupChicken broth

Steps

  1. 1

    In a large skillet, brown and cook sausage until no longer pink; drain. Remove from skillet; set aside. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onion, celery, green pepper and garlic until tender

  2. 2

    In non extra large mixing bowl, combine sausage, vegetable mixture, bread stuffing, herbs, cheese and olives. Add eggs and broth; toss gently. Salian d pepper to taste

  3. 3

    Spooning o a buttered 3-4 quart baking dish. Cover with foil and bake at 325°F for 60 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 minutes longer or until lightly browned. Internal temperature should read 165°F.
