Steps

Soak lentil few hours

Pressure cook lentils

Fry cinnamon, cloves, red chilis, pepper corn, cumin seeds.

Add onion puree

Add ginger paste, garlic paste, turmeric, red chilies, coriander, cumin. Saute well.

Add tomato puree. Cook 2 minutes.

Add garam masala and salt. Cook (add sugar)

Prep tempering. Fry ghee with spices.
