Soak the dal for one hour.Put 4-5cups of water in a pressure cooker and pour in the dal.

Cut the vegetables into long cylindrical pieces.Wash and season with salt and turmeric powder. Add to the dal in the cooker.

Cook the dal with vegetables in the pressure cooker giving 6-7whistles. In the meantime cut the paneer into big cubes and fry.

After the dal is cooked well in the cooker turn off the flame and let the steam be absorbed.

In a kadai heat oil.Add curry leaves,dry chillies, ciba hing and mustard seeds and allow to change colour.

Pour into the kadai the cioked dal from the cooker. Add salt sugar and Ciba Sambhar masala stirring continually.

Add tamarind paste and allow to boil.

Finally add the paneer to the Sambhar

Cook for a few more minutes till every ingredient gets well mixed. Then remove from the flame and serve hot with rice and papad.
