never thought I would like artichokes until I dippes it in this sauce and pulled the meat out of the leaf. delicious appetizer or side!
Steps
- 1
in small sauce pan over low heat mix milk, and nutmeg along with onion. the bay leaf can be stuck to the onion using the 2 cloves, but I put them in seperately. the purpose is just to make it easier to take them out of the mixture
- 2
in a bigger saucepan on medium heat, melt butter and stir in flour.
- 3
let heat 2-3 minutes and slowly stir in milk mixture once the bay leaf, onion, and garlic have been extracted
- 4
heat until thick, without boiling
- 5
dip artichoke leaves in as you eat it. I boil the artichokes in water with a bay leaf, garlic clove, and lemon slice.
