Sprinkle beef with salt and pepper and rub into meat

Poke holes in meat with fork

Whisk together onion, garlic, red wine, ketchup, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and thyme until blended

Place all ingredients in freezer bag, squeeze air out, and seal

Let marinate in fridge 6 hours or overnight. Can be frozen to cook on a later date.

Thaw (if frozen) and turn on broiler with broiler pan inside. Preheat pan 10 minutes

Place meat on broiler pan about 4" from heat.

Broil 5-6 minutes on each side, watching closely. Undercooked is better, as you can always cook another minute if necessary

Boil marinade in small saucepan, then reduce to simmer until thickened.

Let meat rest 8 minutes, then slice and drizzle with marinade
