Ingredients

  • 3/4 cuponion, chopped
  • 5 clovegarlic, minced
  • 1/4 cupolive oil
  • 2 can28oz tomatoes, whole peeled
  • 2 tspsalt
  • 1 tspwhite sugar
  • 1bay leaf
  • 1 can6 oz tomato paste
  • 3/4 tspbasil
  • 1/2 tspground black pepper

Steps

  1. 1

    Medium heat large saucepan. Sautee onion, garlic in olive oil until onion is translucent.

  2. 2

    Stir in tomatoes, salt, sugar, and bay leaf.

  3. 3

    Cover. Reduce heat to low and simmer 90 minutes.

  4. 4

    Stir in tomato paste, basil, black pepper, and meatballs.

  5. 5

    Simmer 30 minutes more.
