Boil the lentils with salt until they are halfway cooked. Add the rice and cook until the rice is done and the water is absorbed.

Slice the onions and sauté them in olive oil in a separate pan. When the onions are golden brown, pour the oil over the mujadara and turn off the heat.

Garnish the mujadara with the caramelized onions and serve. Enjoy!
