in a large pot add 1.5 liters of coca - cola with onion, garlic, bayleaf, and peppercorns

add the ribs add water if nessesary just to ensure that the ribs is submerge completely

turning the ribs every now and then for an hour

**if you want it to be faster boil the mixture for 10 minutes then put it in a pressure cooker for 30 minutes**

to make the sauce combine butter, onion, garlic, ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce and 12oz of Coca Cola in a large heavy sauce pan

let it boil and reduce heat, simmer for 25 minutes stirring often until sauce is thickened and reduced

season with salt and pepper (to taste) let it cool

in a blender puree the sauce

note: the sauce can be made 5 days ahead and stored in the refrigerator in a air tight container.

remove the ribs pat dry season with salt and pepper

brush liberally with the sauce. grill, turning so often until charred on the outside about 8 minutes

cover the ribs with foil (let it rest) for 5 minutes before cutting into individual ribs

serve extra sauce on the side for dipping
