Preheat oven to 180 on bake.

Grease a 18 x 27cm oven tray.

In a bowl mix all the dry base ingredients. Once mixed add the butter and use a food processor or your hands to mix together with the other ingredients.

Place the mixed ingredients into the baking tray evenly then place the tray in the oven.

Take out after 15-25 minutes and leave to cool.

For the icing put the butter and maple syrup in a heated saucepan and melt.

Once the butter is melted add the icing sugar and ginger to the saucepan and continue to stir.

When the icing is a thick syrupy consistency pour it on top of the base and leave to dry.

When the slice has cooled take it out of the baking tray and cut into even pieces. sizes depend on your appetite.
