Ingredients

8 servings
  1. 1deep dish pie shell
  2. 3/4 cupgranulated sugar
  3. 1/2 cupreal butter, melted
  4. 2squares Nestlé unsweetened bakers chocolate, melted
  5. 1 tspvanilla extract
  6. 2eggs, beaten well
  7. 1Cool whip
  8. 1chocolate bar...Hershey, etc.

Steps

  1. 1

    Cream butter,sugar,until light & fluffy

  2. 2

    Add melted chocolate

  3. 3

    Add vanilla

  4. 4

    Combine well.

  5. 5

    ONE AT A TIME: add eggs, beat 8 minutes after EACH EGG.

  6. 6

    Pour mixture into pie shell

  7. 7

    Chill overnight

  8. 8

    Add cool whip

  9. 9

    Garnish with chocolate curls

  10. 10

    CHOCOLATE CURLS: USING A POTATO PEELER, SHAVE A CHOCOLATE BAR.

I grew up with this as my mother's signature pie. She added peppermint flavoring and green coloring to the whipped cream. Absolutely heaven!
