Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsnavy beans soaked overnight....or 2 cans drained
  2. 1/2 lbbacon, cut to desired size
  3. 1onion chopped
  4. 3 Tmolasses..opt
  5. 2 teaspoonssalt...opt
  6. 1/4 teaspoonground black pepper...opt
  7. 1/4 teaspoondry mustard...opt
  8. 1/2 cupketchup...opt
  9. 1 Tworcestershire sauce..opt
  10. 1/4 cupbrown sugar...opt

Cooking Instructions

    Soak beans overnight in cold water. Simmer the beans in the same water until tender, approximately 1 to 2 hours. Drain and reserve the liquid.

    Saute bacon abd onions til bacon is browned.

    Arrange the beans in the crock poy by placing a portion of the beans in the bottom of dish, and layering them with bacon and onion.

    Turn crockpot to high 4 hours

    In a saucepan, combine molasses, salt, pepper, dry mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil and pour over beans. Pour over beans. Pour in just enough of the reserved bean water to cover the beans. Remove the lid about halfway through cooking, and add more liquid if necessary to prevent the beans from getting too dry.

    Substitute your favorite bbq sauce to taste... I use neely
