Normally used for making halwas, fries and chapatis, we very rarely make any curries with sweet potatoes. Given the sweet taste of sweet potatoes, here’s a spicy, tangy and flavourful curry to be relished with fasting pooris/chapatis

Normally used for making halwas, fries and chapatis, we very rarely make any curries with sweet potatoes. Given the sweet taste of sweet potatoes, here’s a spicy, tangy and flavourful curry to be relished with fasting pooris/chapatis
Steps

Make a paste by combining tomatoes and green chillies

Heat oil in a pressure cooker
- 3
Add cumin seeds and let the seeds splutter
- 4
Add the tomato paste next, followed by dry spices (except garam masala) and salt
- 5
Mix well and sauté on Low heat till masalas and oil separate
- 6
Add the potatoes next and mix well

Add 1/2 cup water and pressure cook for upto 1 whistle

Switch off the heat and let the curry cook in the steam

After a few minutes open the lid and add the whisked curd
- 10
Mix well and transfer the curry in a serving bowl
- 11
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with pooris/chapatis/paranthas made for fasting
