  • 1/2 lbground beef
  • 3/4 cuponion chopped
  • 3/4 cupcarrots, canned
  • 3/4 cupcelery, chopped
  • 1 tspparsley
  • 1 tspbasil, dried
  • 1 tbspbutter
  • 1 tspgarlic
  • 1 tspcumin
  • 3 cupbeef broth
  • 4 cupfrozen hash browns
  • 1/4 cupflour
  • 2 cupshredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cupmilk
  • 1/4 cupsour cream

  1. 1

    brown beef

  2. 2

    add vegetables & butter

  3. 3

    stir in basil, parsley, garlic & cumin

  4. 4

    add broth & potatoes

  5. 5

    simmer until potatoes are tender

  6. 6

    whisk in flour

  7. 7

    add milk, stirring unyil smooth

  8. 8

    gradually add milk mixture to the soup, stirring constantly

  9. 9

    reduce heat to simmer

  10. 10

    stir in cheese

  11. 11

    add sour cream last

  12. 12

    heat through

  13. 13

    do not boil
