Ingredients

  1. 1 cupChana dal
  2. 1 cupjaggery powder
  3. 1/4 cupdry coconut (kopra) powder
  4. 1/2 ltrMilk
  5. 1 tspCardamom powder
  6. 2 tspMilk powder (optional)
  7. Chopped dry fruits and spoon full of ghee for frying
  8. 1 tspfull of rice flour

Steps

  1. 1

    Cook Chana dal along with a pinch of turmeric and few drops of oil in a pressure cooker till soft.

  2. 2

    Meanwhile boil milk in a kadai

  3. 3

    Smash 1/4 quantity of cooked dal and add entire quantity of dal into boiling milk

  4. 4

    Dissolve milk powder in cold milk or water and add to boiling milk

  5. 5

    Mix one spoon of rice flour in milk or water and add to boiling milk

  6. 6

    Add kopra and cardamom powder. Put off the flame.

  7. 7

    When the kheer is little cold add jaggery and fried chopped dry fruits (cashew, almond, raisins pista)
