Man do I love ribs done this way. If you have the time, the longer they cook for in the oven the more tender they'll be. Wrapping them in foil for the baking really helps the spice rub integrate into the meat.

Mix all of the spice rub ingredients together.

If you have one, put the spice mix in an old spice shaker for an easy way to apply and keep the leftover for next time.

Preheat oven to 200 Fahrenheit.

Prepare the rack of ribs by removing the thin membrane on the underside. If you've never done this, Google "removing membrane from pork back ribs". A butter knife and some paper towels make it easier.

Cut the ribs into manageable sections. I usually do 4-5 ribs.

Generously apply the spice rub to both sides of the ribs.

Wrap each section of ribs tightly in aluminum foil.

Place the foil-wrapped ribs on a baking sheet.

Bake in oven for at least 90 minutes, I prefer at least 3 hours.

Unwrap the ribs (over a bowl or sink, there will be plenty of liquid that you'll want to avoid getting all over your counter).

Preheat grill on medium heat.

Brush barbecue sauce all over the ribs.

Grill ribs for 5 minutes per side to caramelize the sugars in the sauce.
