Ingredients

30 mins
4 servings
  1. 1large onion
  2. 2large potatoes
  3. 4garlic pearls chopped finely
  4. 400 gmsminced goat/lamb’s meat
  5. 150 gmsdeskined and chopped veggies (sweet corn,French beans, green peas,carrots,etc)
  6. to tasteSalt
  7. 2 tablespoonfreshly crushed black pepper
  8. 1 tablespoonWorcestershire sauce
  9. 1 tablespoonparsley finely chopped
  10. 300 gmfinely grated cheddar/parmesan cheese
  11. 2 tablespoonolive oil
  12. 1 tablespoonred paprika/chilli flakes
  13. 150 mlmeat/veggies stock(quantity would vary as needed)
  14. 1 cupvegetable/meat stock
  15. 50 gmsunsalted butter
  16. 4 tablespoonmilk
  17. 1 tablespoonfinely chopped parsley (optional)

Steps

30 mins
  1. 1

    Heat olive oil in a non stick pan and add onions and garlic

  2. 2

    Sauté for 2-3 minutes on medium heat and add chopped veggies followed by minced meat

  3. 3

    Next add, salt to taste, 1 tbspn crushed black pepper and Worcestershire sauce

  4. 4

    Mix well and sauté for 5-7 minutes on medium heat

  5. 5

    Add paprika and mix well

  6. 6

    Reduce heat. Add meat stock.

  7. 7

    Cook covered until veggies soften

  8. 8

    Meanwhile pressure cook or boil the potatoes

  9. 9

    After they cool off, deskin and mash them

  10. 10

    Place them in a bowl and add butter. Mix well

  11. 11

    Add salt to taste, remaining black pepper, milk and cheese

  12. 12

    Mix all the ingredients well

  13. 13

    Once the veggies soften and meat is semi cooked, take the pan off heat

  14. 14

    Grease a baking dish with some oil or melted butter

  15. 15

    Add the meat-veggies mix and layer well with the help of a spatula

  16. 16

    Add the mashed potato on TOP.spread and layer evenly over the minced meat layer, followed by parmesan cheese

  17. 17

    Bake at 180 degree celcius for 30-40 minutes or until the potato layer shows a lovely golden brown colour

  18. 18

    Take off oven and let cool a bit for sometime

  19. 19

    Sprinkle some finely chopped parsley on top(Optional)

  20. 20

    Serve hot accompanied with breads or soups of your choice

  21. 21
