Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 1/2 kgChicken with bones
  2. 1 tbspGinger garlic paste
  3. 1 cupbroken wheat
  4. 1/2 cuptuvar dal
  5. 1/2 cupmasoor dal
  6. 1/2 cupchana
  7. 2sliced onion
  8. 2 tbspgreen chilli paste
  9. Whole spices:
  10. 1Bay leaf
  11. 2Cloves
  12. 2Cardamom
  13. 1/2 inchcinnamon stick
  14. 3-4black pepper corns
  15. 1/2 tspcumin seed
  16. 1/2 cupOil
  17. 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  18. 1/2 tspGaram masala powder
  19. to tasteSalt

Steps

    Soak broaken wheat for 5 to 6 hours. After that drain and cook with some salt and 1 cup of water in pressure cooker.

    Let it cool and grind to a corse paste.

  3. 3

    Soak all dals seperately for 2 hours and cook with salt and 1/2 cup water in pressure cooker till 2 pressures.

  4. 4

    Let it cool and again grind into a corse paste.

  5. 5

    Now take 1/4 cup oil in cooker add whole spices, onion and cook till soft.

  6. 6

    Add chicken pieces, ginger garlic paste,green chilli paste, salt and cook for few minutes.

  7. 7

    Cover the lid and add 1/2 cup water cook till 2 whistles.

  8. 8

    In another pan take remaining 1/4 cup oil add Coarse dal paste, wheat paste,and cook for few minutes.

  9. 9

    Add 4 to 5 cup of water If needed salt and cook for 15 minutes.

  10. 10

    Now add chicken and cook onther for 10 minutes.

  11. 11

    When done sprinkle red chilli powder and garam masala powder.

    Chicken haleem is ready to serve.
