Ingredients

35 minutes
5-6 servings
  1. 1 kgchicken
  2. 3-4onion chopped and grind to a smooth paste
  3. 1 tablespoonginger paste
  4. 1 tablespoongarlic paste
  5. 1/2 cuphung curd
  6. 1 cupboiled tomato pureed
  7. 1 teaspoonjeera powder
  8. 1 teaspoonkashmiri mirch powder
  9. 1 teaspoonturmeric powder
  10. 2bay leaves
  11. 1 tablespoonwhole garam masalas
  12. 2dry red chilli
  13. 1 teaspoongaram masala powder
  14. To tastesalt and sugar
  15. As neededoil and ghee

Steps

35 minutes
  1. 1

    Marinate the chicken with a portion of curd,garam masala,red chilli Powder,ginger garlic paste and rest for at least one hour

  2. 2

    Add oil,heat and add the bay leaves,red chilli and garam masalas to splutter

  3. 3

    Add onion paste saute well

  4. 4

    Add ginger garlic paste and saute well till the raw smell disappears

  5. 5

    Add salt and turmeric powder and the marinated chicken,saute well.

  6. 6

    Cover it with the lid and stir occasionally

  7. 7

    Add tomato puree mix well adding red chilli powder and jeera powder

  8. 8

    As the masalas start leaving oil keep the flame low and add the curd mix well

  9. 9

    Finally add ghee garam masala powder and sugar

  10. 10

    Chicken kosha is ready serve it hot with rice or roti
