Ingredients

  1. 2large tomatoes finely chopped
  2. 1med Onion chopped lengthwise in 1" size
  3. 1 tspchopped garlic
  4. 1green chilli chopped
  5. 8-10curry leaves
  6. 1large dried red chilli
  7. 1 tspmustard seeds
  8. 1 tspUrad dal
  9. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  10. 1/2 tspsugars
  11. 2 tspRasam Powder
  12. 1 pinchhing
  13. Oil to cook
  14. to taste Salt
  15. Coriander leave to garnish

Steps

  1. 1

    In a kadai heat oil. Put mustard seeds,hing, red chilli, Curry leave and urad dal.

  2. 2

    When the mustard seeds spluter, add chopped garlic and fry for 1 min.

  3. 3

    Add chopped Onion, salt and fry till onion is translucent not brown.

  4. 4

    When tomatoes become soft like chutney, add water as per your choice of the rasam gravy. Mix the rasam powder very well and switch off the flame.

    Tomato-Onion Rasam is ready. Garnish with coriander leave and serve with steamed Rice and papad.
