Soak your rice for about 30 mins. Then boil it until 80% done. Strain excess water and put it a side.

In a pan heat oil. Add your onions (preferably cut in circle) and cook them until they turn golden brown. Put it a side.

Take a large pan and layer half of your cooked rice followed by half the fried onion. Then the rest of rice and onions in that order. Cover your pan tightly and bring it to a simmer on low heat for 15 mins.

Your onion rice is ready. You can serve it on its on or with your best stew.
