Yes!!we all get emotional about this day;after all,a mother is the only person who does not mind not getting paid for her unconditional and endless job as a mother. How does one ever pay her back? Well! by loving her,respecting her,caring for her when she starts ageing. Just being there for her when she needs you is enough for her. Now before your eyes well up I stop here.
One dish which does not have onion and garlic and cherished in my mother's home most was Moong Daal Karail. My mother made it very often because my father and all of us siblings liked it very much.

One dish which does not have onion and garlic and cherished in my mother's home most was Moong Daal Karail. My mother made it very often because my father and all of us siblings liked it very much.

Soak moong daal in water overnight.

Wash and take out the peel of daal and grind it without or less water in a grinder.

Divide daal into 1:3 parts.Take bigger portion in a pot and add hing,chilli powder and turmeric powder.Beat it well. Batter should be thick.

Heat the oil and make small pakoris of this batter.

Mix in 2 glasses of water in rest of the portion and make a watery ghol.

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadhai add all spices saute it till brown then pour the watery dal ghol and stir it continuously on slow flame for 15 min.Add salt.

Now add small pakoris.Keep it covered for 10 min.Pour the tadka of mustard seeds,curry leaves,hing and cashewnuts

Serve hot with rice or roti.
