Ingredients

  • 1 cupGrated paneer /cottage cheese
  • 1 cupGrated boiled potatoes
  • 2 tablespoonAll purpose flour / maida
  • to tasteSalt
  • For stuffing
  • 2 tablespoonCrushed cashew nuts
  • 1 tablespoonRaisins
  • 1 tablespoonGrated paneer
  • For gravy
  • 1 medium sizeChopped onion
  • 4 - 5Garlic cloves
  • - 1 inch stickGinger
  • 1 teaspoonRed chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoonKasmiri mirch powder
  • 1 tspCoriander powder
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1Black cardamom
  • 1Green cardamom
  • 1 inch stickCinnamon
  • 2-3Black pepper
  • 1 pieceMace
  • 2 tablespoonCurd
  • 1/2 cupMilk
  • 2 tablespoonCream
  • 1/2 cupTomato puree
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1 cupOil
  • 1 teaspoonChopped coriander leaves

Steps

    Take a bowl add potatoes,grated cottage cheese,all purpose flour and salt and mix well

    Make a smooth dough.

    Now make a stuffing.

    In a bowl add crushed cashew nuts,raisins and 2 tbsp grated cottage cheese.

    Now stuffing is ready.

    Divide the dough into equal size balls.

  7. 7

    Roll each balls between your palms.

  8. 8

    Place 1/4 tsp stuffing in paneer balls and close the stuffing nicely.

  9. 9

    Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the malai kofta in a medium flame.

  10. 10

    Now we make gravy.

  11. 11

    In a blender add chopped onion,garlic,ginger,black pepper,cloves,mace,cinnamon,black cardamom.green cardamom,red chilli powder,coriander powder,turmeric powder,kashmiri mirch and little water and blend it to make a fine paste.

    In another pan heat the oil.

    Add spices paste and saute till spices leave the oil.

  14. 14

    Add 1/2 cup of milk and 2 tbsp cream and mix well.

  15. 15

    Add tomato puree and curd and mix well.

  16. 16

    Add 1/2 cup of water and cover it to make semi thick gravy.

  17. 17

    Add malai kofta into a bowl and pour the hot gravy.

  18. 18

    Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
