  1. 500 gmHalf done rice
  2. 200 gmsBoiled jackfruit / kathal
  3. 100 gmsClarified butter / ghee
  4. 2Sliced onion
  5. Cloves4 - 5
  6. 3-4Green cardamom
  7. 4-5Whole black pepper
  8. 1Black cardamom
  9. 1 pieceMace
  10. 1 inch stickCinnamon
  11. 1 tspGaram masala powder
  12. to tasteSalt
  13. strandsKesar / saffron - few

Steps

50 mins
  1. 1

    Soak saffron / kesar in a half cup of water.

    Heat clarified butter / ghee in a pan.

    Add whole garam masala and saute for one mins.

  4. 4

    Add sliced onion and fry till light brown

  5. 5

    Add boiled jackfruit pieces and saute for one to two mins.

  6. 6

    Add half done rice and salt and mix well.

  7. 7

    Add saffron water,garam masala powder and one cup of water and cover it,

  8. 8

    Cook for ten mins in a low flame.

  9. 9

    Serve hot with raita.
