Shish Barak and Samosa
I always want to eat something and not know how to make it, so I learned how to make Shish Barak the traditional way and made it today.
Steps
- 1
Knead the dough for both the Shish Barak and the samosas, then let them rest.
- 2
Finely chop the onion and mix it with the ground beef, spices, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Once the filling has cooled, roll out the Shish Barak dough and cut it into small pieces.
- 4
Fill and shape the dough pieces as shown.
- 5
After finishing the Shish Barak, fill the samosas and fry them in hot oil.
- 6
For cooking the Shish Barak, blend one egg in a blender or with a hand whisk with 2 tablespoons cornstarch and a little water, then whisk well.
- 7
Pour the mixture into a pot over heat, add a little more water, and cook until the yogurt reaches a medium consistency—not too thick or too thin.
- 8
Add 1/4 cup rice.
- 9
Once the rice is cooked in the yogurt, gently add the Shish Barak pieces while stirring so they cook well.
- 10
Finally, add the garlic and dried mint. Enjoy!
