Cook jackfruit pieces in pressure cooker. Once it is cooked properly, add it into melted jaggery and mix well. Cook this mixture on medium heat in a thick bottomed pan till all the water content evaporates and the mixture becomes jam consistency. This is called "chakka varattiyath" in Malayalam which roughly translates to jackfruit jam. You can refrigerate it for months for future use, in case you have more jackfruit available.

Mix the jackfruit and jaggery mixture with rice powder and prepare a batter. Add some water to get the required consistency. You need to make small balls with this. Add a pinch of salt. Adjust the sweetness level.

Roast the coconut pieces in ghee and add to this.

Heat oil in a pan and fry the dough shaped into small balls.

Serve hot with tea or coffee.
