Cooking Instructions
- 1
Usually store bought natto packs come with sauce and Japanese mustard.
- 2
Mix natto with the attached sauce. (You don’t need mustard for this recipe.)
- 3
Beat eggs in a bowl and add mayonnaise and chopped green onion.
- 4
Add canola oil into a pan. Once heated, add egg mix and cook for a couple of minutes on medium heat. When half cooked, add natto in the middle.
- 5
Once the egg mix is ready to be flipped, wrap natto from both ends and make an omelet.(Inside of omelet is still very wet and sticky when all cooked. That’s ok!)

Omelet Filled with Natto, Tuna and Mayonnaise Omelet Filled with Natto, Tuna and Mayonnaise
This is the omelet version of "Seriously Good!! Aburaage Filled with Natto, Tuna and Mayonnaise"!The reason why you cook the onions in the microwave to start is because the omelet doesn't cook through. You add the cheese first and separately from the other ingredients so that it will melt easily.I think that adding black pepper makes the omelet slightly Western-styled. Japanese-style Omelette with Natto and Cream Cheese Japanese-style Omelette with Natto and Cream Cheese
I love natto and cream cheese together. So, I tried folding them inside some soft eggs to make an omelette. The resulting dish was delicious as it was mildly flavored overall thanks to the eggs.I think you only need the saltiness of the natto sauce, Japanese mustard, and the cream cheese to season the omelette. For best results, use a decent amount of green onions and bonito flakes. Try making an omelette with your usual frying pan a few times to get the hang of it. I initially failed at making omelets, too. Now, it falls apart only on some occasions, and I fix it later when it happens. Recipe by milketmoi cookpad.japan -
