Mutton Masala

Well am a pure vegetarian. Never ate or made Non Veg. But hubby is Non Vegetarian. So this was my first attempt to make Mutton. Trust me it was yummy..
Family was happy so am also feeling good.

Mutton Masala
Well am a pure vegetarian. Never ate or made Non Veg. But hubby is Non Vegetarian. So this was my first attempt to make Mutton. Trust me it was yummy..

Clean and wash Mutton nicely.

For Marination. Take a bowl. Add Mutton Pieces. Add 1 tsp Salt, 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder and 1 Tsp Ginger and Garlic Paste. Mix well. Now add 100 Gms Yogurt. Mix properly and keep it for 1 hour.

For Masala. Take a wok. Add 2 Tbsp ghee. Heat. Now add 3 whole red chillies, 1 bay leaf, 1 Big black cardamom, 3 Green Cardamom, 1 Tsp Coriander seeds, cinnamon, 3 cloves and 1/2 tsp black pepper. Fry.

Now in this add roughly chopped onions. Saute. Fry till onion changes colour and is golden in colour. Now add 1 Tsp Ginger and Garlic Paste. Fry for 2 min. Switch off the gas. Let it cool down.

Now in a mixer add tomatoes and green chillies. Now add fried onion masala with all ingredients. Crush it and make a smooth paste.

Now take a wok. Add rest of the ghee. Heat. Add 2 Whole Red Chillies, Cinnamon, Cloves, Black Pepper, Star Anise and Nutmeg Powder. Saute. Now in this add onion tomatoes paste. Saute on medium heat for 5 min. Now add marinated mutton. Saute. Now add salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder. Cook on medium heat.

Cover and cook for 30 min. Keep stirring in between. Now if the gravy is too thick add 1 cup of water. Add Kasoori methi and garam masala. Pressure cook for 10 min on medium flame. After that switch off the gas. Let the pressure release.

Now garnish with coriander leaves.
