Ingredients

  1. 1 cupchana dal(soaked for 2 hrs)
  2. to tasteSalt
  3. For fryingOil
  4. 1/2 cupgrated beetroot
  5. 1 tbspginger chilli paste
  6. 1 tbspred chilli powder
  7. 1/4 cupchopped coriander
  8. 1/4 cupgrated fresh coconut
  9. 8-10chopped curry leaves

Steps

  1. 1

    Drain the excess water from the chana dal and grind to a coarse paste leaving aside 3-4 tbsp of soaked chanadal aside.

  2. 2

    Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients and the 3-4 tbsp of chana dal also and mix well.

  3. 3

    Use very little water for grinding and that too only if it is required.

  4. 4

    Make small balls of the mixture and flatten between your palms.

  5. 5

    Deep fry these wadas till golden and serve hot with ketchup.
