Ingredients

30 minutes
4 servings
  1. 500 gmsea fish pieces
  2. 1raw Mango peeled, cored and sliced
  3. 2 tbspCoconut oil
  4. 2 sprigCurry Leaves
  5. 1 inchGinger grated
  6. 1/4 tspMustard Seeds
  7. 1/2 cupgrated Coconut
  8. 1/4 tspFenugreek Seeds
  9. 1-2Green Chillies slit
  10. 1small Tomato finely chopped
  11. 8-10Shallots chopped
  12. 1/2 tspTurmeric
  13. 1 tbspRed Chilli powder
  14. 1 tspCoriander powder
  15. to tasteSalt

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Grind coconut with little water to form paste, keep it aside

  2. 2

    Heat oil in earthen vessel, splutter mustard seeds,add fenugreek seeds, allow to change colour

  3. 3

    Add ginger, green chillies, curry leaves and saute for few seconds

  4. 4

    Add shallots and saute until it's soft. Add tomato and saute for few seconds Mix all spice powders with 1/4 cup water. Add spice water to shallots with salt

  5. 5

    Saute until tomatoes turn soft. Add sliced raw mango with 1 cup water. Bring to boil. Add ground coconut paste with 1/2 cup water and mix well. The tangy flavour of curry depends on sourness of raw mango

  6. 6

    Add fish pieces and gently mix. Simmer and cook for 10-12 minutes. Drizzle 1 tsp coconut oil. Switch off. Leave it aside for 15 minutes to allow the flavour to set in well. Serve hot with rice
