Ingredients

  1. 1/3 cupsall-purpose flour
  2. 1/2 teaspoonseason salt
  3. 1/2 teaspoonsground black pepper or more to taste
  4. 1 kgbeef, Chuck will be fine, cut into 1 inch cubes
  5. 1 teaspoonolive oil
  6. 1onion, chopped,
  7. 18-ounce package of mushroom chopped
  8. 3potatoes diced
  9. 5carrots, sliced
  10. 2 stalkscelery, chopped
  11. 2 clovesgarlic, minced
  12. 1/4 cupMarsala wine
  13. 1 tablespoonWorcestershire sauce
  14. 3 (10 ounce)cans beef broth (you can you dissolved beef cubes)
  15. 1-16 ouncecan crushed tomatoes
  16. 1×1 ounce packet of dry onion soup mix (or see the recipe for this by this poster)
  17. 1 teaspoonSpanish smoked paprika to taste
  18. to tasteSalt and ground pepper
  19. 2 tablespoonscornstarch (optional

Cooking Instructions

    Combine the flour, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, seasoned salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper into a large resealable plastic bag. Add the beef, and seal the bag. Shake the bag thoroughly coat the beef in seasoned flour

    Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Shred the excess fat off the beef then stir the Beef into the hot pan with the onion and mushrooms. Cook and stir until the beef is evenly browned and no longer pink. Drain and discard any excess grease or fat

    Place the beef mixture into the insert of the crockpot. Place the potatoes, carrots, celery, garlic, marsala wine, and Worcestershire sauce into the cooker with the beef mixture.

    Pour the beef broth and tomatoes into the cooker, and stir in the onion soup mix and one or more teaspoons of smoked paprika. Cook on high for 4 to 6 hours on low for 10 to 12 hours. Season to taste with salt and black pepper
