Ingredients

  • 1 cupRefined flour
  • 2 tablespoonsSemolina
  • 1 cupsplit gram soaked for 2 hours
  • 1/2 cupjaggery pieces
  • 1 tablespoonsSugar
  • 2 tablespoonsCoconut powder
  • 2 tablespoonsButter
  • 1 teaspoonBaking powder
  • For fryOil/ghee

    Take a bowl and add refined flour, baking powder, suji and melted butter in it. Mix all well and Knead a dough with water. Keep it to rest for 10 min.

    Now boil split gram and drain it to avoid extra water and grind it.

    Now heat a pan and add 1 tablespoon of ghee in it. Roast grinded split gram in it till slightly change in colour. Add pieces of jaggery and sugar in it till they both get dissolved. Now add coconut powder and mix well. Now switch off your gas and let it cool for 10 mins.

    Now Knead the dough again and make small balls of it and fill these balls with ready split gram filling. Seal from edges and roll it in hands to increase size. Now roll it with the help of roller with very low pressure on it.

    Now heat two pans one without ghee and another with ghee. Now dry roast slightly these pooran polies from both sides before frying it. Fry till golden brown. Serve hot.
