Garlic Custard Apple Sago Fruit Delight

This is an innovative and unique dessert recipe as addition of Garlic takes it to another tangent.
This is a rich, creamy exotic combination of kheer and fruits to make it healthy and delicious.
It is without ghee and in this recipe the soaked sago are cooked in cardamom flavoured, sweetened milk along with blanched garlic and combined with custard apple pulp to give it a new dimension.
The fresh fruits and dry fruits are added to make it delicious and healthy.
It tastes heavenly when served chilled.

Ingredients

2 hours 30 minutes
4 servings
  1. 1 cupCustard Apple Pulp chilled
  2. 1/2 cupSago/sabudana soaked in water for 2 hours
  3. 2 cupsfull cream Milk
  4. 2big cloves of garlic finely chopped
  5. 2 tablespoonsAlmonds chopped
  6. 1 tablespoonpistachios chopped
  7. 1 tablespooncashews chopped
  8. 2 pinchgreen Green cardamom powder
  9. 1/4 teaspoon of strands of saffron
  10. 2 tablespoonsSugar or as per the taste
  11. 1 cupchopped mixed fruits like apple, pomegranate, pear
  12. 4apple wedges for the garnish

Steps

2 hours 30 minutes
  1. 1

    Blanch the chopped garlic in half cup of water (I did in microwave, it took a minute to blanch) drain, squeeze and keep aside

    Boil milk in a deep pan and add soaked sago and blanched garlic and mix well.

    Cook on a low flame till sago and garlic are completely cooked and translucent and the kheer thickens

    Add green cardamom powder, saffron, sugar and mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

    Allow it to cool down to room temperature.

    Add the custard apple pulp, chopped fruits and half quantity of chopped almonds, pistachios and cashews and mix well.

    Refrigerate for 2 - 3 hours.

  8. 8

    Garnish with rest of the dry fruits and apple wedges and serve chilled.
