Steps

Wash, peel and devein the prawns while keeping the tails intact. Marinate with salt and turmeric powder for 5 minutes. Keep them aside.

In a Kadai, heat oil. Add cumin seeds and bay leaves. Let the cumin crackle. Add the garlic-ginger-green chilli paste and saute for a minute.

Then add in chopped onion and saute it for 2 minutes.

Meanwhile cut some of the marinated prawn flesh roughly into pieces and add along with the mashed potatoes into the Kadai. Stir and cook for 2 minutes.

Then add in salt, sugar, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and coriander leaves. Stir and cook for another 2 minutes till all the ingredients combine well. Keep it aside to cool.

Now cover rest of the marinated prawns with this filling one by one. Make cylinder shaped chops like this.

Spread the breadcrumbs on a plate. Add water and salt into the egg. Mix it.

Now coat the chops with the breadcrumbs, then dip it into the egg batter and coat it again with the breadcrumbs.

Repeat the process with the other portions too.

Heat oil in an another Kadai, and fry this chops till golden.

Take them out when done in a plate.

Serve hot with mustard sauce.
