Heat oil in wok, add asafoetida, green chilli, bay leaves and cumin seeds in it and allow it to splatter.

Now add onion in it and cook it until it becomes soft then add ginger-garlic paste in it and cook it until it's raw smell is completely gone.

Now add tomato and all spices in it except garam masala powder and cook it until tomato becomes soft and mushy.

Now add boiled chana daal and alt in it cook it for 10-15 minutes on low-medium flame then switch off the flame.

Your daal fry is ready to serve now.
