Ingredients

  1. 1 2/3 poundsrice flour
  2. 1.1 poundsbutter
  3. 2 cupssugar (about 400 grams)
  4. 8large eggs
  5. 1/2 poundraisins
  6. 3 tablespoonsbaking powder
  7. as neededyellow food coloring
  8. 2 bunchesdried corn husks

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak the corn husks in hot water, drain, and let them dry.

  2. 2

    Beat the butter until fluffy.

  3. 3

    Add the sugar and beat until dissolved.

  4. 4

    Add the eggs one by one.

  5. 5

    Add the sifted flour and baking powder.

  6. 6

    Add the food coloring as needed, being careful not to over-salt the dough.

  7. 7

    Grease the husks and add a portion of dough to each one.

  8. 8

    Add a few raisins to each tamale.

  9. 9

    Wrap the tamales.

  10. 10

    Arrange in a steamer and cook until done.
