Ingredients

1 hour 20 mins
8 servings
  1. 400 g(about 2 medium) cooking apples, peeled, cored & chopped
  2. 150unsalted butter or baking fat
  3. 150 gsoft brown sugar
  4. 3large eggs
  5. 2 tbspGolden Syrup
  6. 200 gself raising flour
  7. 2 tspground ginger

Steps

1 hour 20 mins
  1. 1

    Pre-heat the oven to 180C/Fan 160/Gas 4
    Grease & line a 20cm cake tin with baking paper.

  2. 2

    Beat the butter & sugar together until light & fluffy then mix in the eggs one at a time. Beat in the syrup.

    Sift in the flour & ginger & fold in to the mixture then fold in the apple.

  4. 4

    Pour the mixture into the prepared tin & bake for 1 hour 20 minutes. Check with a skewer or tip of a knife, if it comes out clean it is ready.

    Allow to cool in the tin for 10 minutes then place on a wire rack to finish cooling.

I cooked this cake with similar style, but with olive-oil o sunflowers-oil! Yummy!!!
